Interesting Bedtime Routine

Tonight after Ben was all ready for bed, he read a book with Elizabeth and Daddy. (I know it's not Christmas yet and he's wearing Christmas jammies, but they were warm and it was going to get cold at night :) Ben went right up to Tom and just sat right on his chest to read the book. He sat there for the whole book, went and got another one, and sat right back down again. It was so funny, so I had to get the camera.
Tom doesn't look too comfortable here, huh?? A little hard to read a book this way but somehow they managed!

Boo at the Zoo

This weekend we went to Boo at the Zoo. We all had so much fun! We could see a lot of the animals, got tons of candy, and played games. They even had a live animal show. The kids wore their costumes and looked so cute :)
Here we are in front of the flamingos.

The haunted pumpkin patch! They had the coolest carved pumpkins that looked like all the animals in the zoo. Elizabeth and Ben loved to check them out.

Both the kids enjoy the flamingos - you can get so close to them!

This is our friend Jane. We just happened to see Jane and her parents so we stopped to eat some candy with her. Isn't she so cute in her halloween clothes!? We had a good time at the zoo!

3rd Annual Costume Party

This weekend we had our 3rd annual Halloween party. The pictures are out of order...so this first one is at the end of the night (as you can tell by looking at Elizabeth) The kids played and played, they had such a good time.
We played a game where we used toilet paper to wrap ourselves up like mummys, and the kids had a blast playing in the leftover toilet paper.

Some of the guest after the mummy wrapping.

Cody and Amanda - the winners!

I tried to get pictures of all of the guests, I know I missed some people, I'm sorry if I missed you! I'm trying to get Jessica's pictures so hopefully between the 2 of us we can get everybody!

Kristi and Ken - the ladybug and the coach

Craig (70's runner) finishing off the pinata - the kids couldn't quite break it.

Elizabeth (Fancy Nancy) trying to hit the pinata.

Katie and Bennibi (from the middle ages - a squire and a princess - their little baby was also dressed as a knight with a sword and shield! I wished I had gotten his picture!)
The McLees clan (football fanatics and their son, Noah, is batman)
Carole and John (Irish woman and Scrooge)
Josh and Ben (cars guy and monkey)
Drew (police officer)
Jake (firefighter)

Ashlynn (pink poodle)
Lance and Dana - Ashlynn's parents (sumo wrestler - the winner of our costume contest - and a greek godess!)

Joanne and Jane - with Jill in the belly! (A chef with a bun in the oven and a pink poodle)
Janet (the butterfly), Josh, and Suzanne (the pregnant cheerleader)

Paul, Allison,(the gardeners) and their cute flower, Emily

Grandma B and Ben (Grandma and Grandpa B were "cardiac arrest" My dad was a police officer)

Grandpa B and Cooper (the elephant)

Our family - Elizabeth is Fancy Nancy, Ben is a monkey, I am the tooth fairy and Tom is a boy who lost his tooth.

Elizabeth and her mommy

Grandpa B and his kids - Elizabeth and Ben. Ben just finished eating a yummy cookie pop that Jessica brought - he was such a mess!

I had to add this picture! Ben is not fond of Halloween costumes and he just saw his Grandpa B put on his police hat and glasses and he obviously didn't like what he saw. Basically someone was holding him all night long - which is why you don't see him in too many pictures. We had such a great night! If anyone wants to come in town next year around Halloween, we'd love to have you at our party! :)

At the Pumpkin Patch

Our playgroup had fun at the pumpkin patch last week. Here's Ben doing his "cheese" pose.
We got some of the kids in the jump house - it was so hard to get all of the kids together!!

Elizabeth by some of her favorite pumpkins.

Why can't I ever get the two of them looking and smiling at the same time!? :)

They are both looking...not quite smiling! This will have to do!

Neighborhood Hallween Party

We had a neighborhood Halloween party over the weekend. Unfortunately Tom was out of town, but the kids and I had a great time. Here the kids are waiting with some of their friends in the neighborhood for their chance in the basketball bungee game.

The kids and I waiting to go to the petting zoo.

Jessica, Ryan, and Cooper joined us at the party.

Elizabeth had a great time in the bounce house (there is cousin Drew in the background). Ben crawled in, saw all the big kids, and booked it right back out. It was a lot of fun though!

Ben's Buzz Cut

Ben needed another haircut again and I had been thinking about just getting it cut really short, so I decided just to do it and see how it turned out. Tom's sister, Janet, came over and buzzed it for us. I am still getting used to it, but I think he looks pretty cute - just so old!!

Pumpkin Patch

I was out of town last weekend for my cousin's wedding so the kids and Tom were on their own. They first got flu shots (not so much fun) and then headed to the pumpkin patch with their cousins, Drew and Josh. It seems like they had a lot of fun by looking at the pictures Tom took!

All the kids - of course only half are looking - and not my half :)
Showing off the pumpkins they found and liked the best.
The wagon ride that Elizabeth had fun on but Ben refused to get on. He only wanted dad to hold him by this point in the day. Notice everyone is wearing shorts and t-shirts and it is mid-October. We are hoping for a cold snap sometime before Halloween comes! I think they had a great day at the pumpkin patch - I'm only sad that I wasn't able to be there with them!

Rainy Day

It rained HARD 2 nights ago for about 30 min - the water was already meeting in the middle of the street.
Elizabeth had so much fun playing in the water - she came in absolutely soaked!
Ben wasn't so sure about the rushing water - he decided to just stand back and watch the fun.
