Ben is Sorting!

This is the first time Ben has sorted. He got the hang of it pretty quickly. He also got tired of it pretty quickly too and wanted to throw the animals :)! Much more fun than sorting, right?!
We had fun babysitting Jessica's dog, Lily, over this long weekend!

Sleepy Ben

Ben has never fallen asleep on someone else before, especially since he is getting older. Ben and I were watching Elizabeth in her dance class with one of my friends whose daughter is also in the class. She started to hold him on her lap and I looked over and he had nodded off! He sat just like that in her lap for half an hour. Unfortunately that was his only nap for the day, but it was so funny and cute, I had to take a picture of him!

Pottery Place

The kids and I went to the pottery place to paint our own pottery. They really liked being able to paint all by themselves. Ben loved getting his hand painted for the handprint. We'll share the finished products when we get them back!! They are being glazed and fired right now...

Fishing and Playing at the Park

We went to a park in the area today with our cousins. The kids spotted a squirrel up in the tree - you don't see them very often in our neighborhood so they were very excited.
Fishing!! We didn't catch anything but they had fun!

We had a great playgroup at the Splash Park! The kids loved playing in the water.

Elizabeth's New Bed

Elizabeth has finally gotten a real big girl bed, and she is so excited! She has been sleeping on a twin trundle bed, so it was very close to the floor, and we didn't need guard rails. Now that she is getting older, we decided that it was time for her to have a real bed. The picture is not the best, it is so hard to get both kids looking and smiling at the camera, at the same time!!

Cupcakes and Movie Night at Grandma B's

I spent a lot of Saturday decorating these cupcakes and cake for a baby shower that my sister-in-law was hosting.

We then had movie night at Grandma B's house. Here are the 3 cousins in their very own movie chairs. The rare moment when all 3 are sitting together watching the movie (Elmo - a favorite of the boys)
Ben with his crazy hair. He really didn't sit still for the movie - he got crazy hair from flipping all around in the chair.
We were laughing about Cooper and Elizabeth - it seems like these two should be the brother and sister! They both sat and stared the entire time at the movie - and both were twirling their hair (a big habit of Elizabeth)

Movie Night

Elizabeth and Ben had a fun movie night with daddy on Friday night while mommy was out with friends. They watched Cinderella. Elizabeth made it through the whole movie, no problem. Ben checked out after about 15 minutes. He stayed until he finished his cheetos - and that was enough for him! Elizabeth loves all the Disney princesses - except she hasn't seen any of the movies! So we have been trying to get her to watch a Disney movie or two - but she gets very scared of the witches and other scary characters (they are actually kind of scary if you think back to all the movies), so we have only gotten through Cinderella. There's only the scary cat in that movie and she's gotten brave enough to handle him. :)

No popcorn for our kids - they wanted the good stuff - cheetos!!

Elizabeth at Dance Class

Elizabeth has loved her dance class this summer. This is her "final" class (but we signed up for another session) so we were able to come into the classroom and watch the show.

My mom and I were laughing because she definately has my sense of grace - or lack there-of. She is getting much better though, and she has fun, which is what counts the most!

Zoo School

Elizabeth is going to be attending zoo school this year. It's a once a week class at our zoo! Today we had meet the teacher and see the classroom. It's so beautiful around her classroom, there is even a little waterfall! I think once she gets used to leaving her mommy, she'll love school! Ben sure wanted to come too - he was really into those rattles from the rattlesnake!

Rainy Days

We've had a few rainy days in TX, but it's been actually cool out - in the 70s!! So we've tried to take advantage of it and play outside. The kids loved the rain!

Going Away Dinner for Sarah

Snicker Pounding

The kids are helping me make apple salad by pounding frozen snicker bars with a hammer. It's the best time cooking with me that Ben has had! (Apple salad is green apples, whipped cream, and pounded up snickers - YUM!)

Elizabeth in Gymnastics

Elizabeth is really enjoying her gymnastics class. She does gymnastics for a half and hour and then dance for the other half and hour. She is very proud of herself that she can hold herself up on the bar!

Playing at a New Park

We went to play at a new park that we haven't tried yet. Jessica and I signed the

boys up for a gymnastics class and outside of the building was this park! The kids loved it, but

it was really high, so I had to chase Ben all around it. It was fun!

If you couldn't tell, we go to the park alot! There is a park right at the end of our street, and our cousins live right by us, so we are there a lot with them!
