Elizabeth's Art Party

Elizabeth loves art so when it came to deciding what she wanted to do for her birthday party it was pretty easy!  We went with an art theme and rainbow colors.  I'm warning you now - there are a ton of pictures!!
I made an apron for each of the kids to help keep their clothes clean during the party.
The next few pictures are of the decorations.  (sorry for the scary looking Phineus and Ferb on the TV!)

Here's the art studio where the kids did their art work.
The big 7 year old, so excited to start her party!

She also decorated a shirt for all her friends to sign.

When the kids arrived they signed a book for Elizabeth, signed her shirt, and colored in the dining room.

After everyone arrived we headed to the art studio.  Elizabeth's Auntie Jessica was our art teacher.  I found a lesson online on how to teach 1st graders how to draw an owl so Jessica did a great job teaching this to the kids.  They first drew it on a piece of paper, then did the same picture on a canvas.  After they drew their owl they painted it.

 Elizabeth and Grandma B!
As the kids finished painting they joined me on the floor and we played pictionary, is that what it's called?  We split into 2 teams and the kids had to come up one at a time and draw what was on the card.
After the game we headed to the kitchen to eat all rainbow food.  The party was from 2-4 so we didn't have lunch, so we just had rainbow colored snacks.  Rainbow twizzlers, rainbow goldfish, rainbow m&ms, and rainbow sixlets. (really healthy stuff for our party!)

The kids sang and enjoyed a surprise inside the cake...

 a rainbow!

After eating we went to the family room to do some present opening.
Here are the finished owls - don't they look awesome!!

 I love them!
The present pile.  She got so many great things - and so many art kits!  We are saving them all for this summer!
An hour later we did it all again with our family.

We had so much fun with this party, it was exactly what Elizabeth loves to do.  We also got some new, cute artwork for our walls!

Birthday Girl!

Elizabeth woke up Wednesday, April 11th, a 7 year old girl!!  She was so excited to open presents from her brother bright and early before school.

She got her first pair of earrings (besides the ones in her ears of course) They were heart rainbows to match her upcoming birthday party.

She also got an alarm clock. She is so excited because she has been ready to start waking up on her own with her own alarm clock.  I guess that's what happens when you're 7!
Tom also was a watch dog at Elizabeth's school on her birthday.  He spent the entire day at her school, helping out.  She LOVED it!
The start of her birthday decorations for her art party on Saturday.  I totally copied this from pinterest!
I came up at the end of the school day to bring a birthday cookie to Elizabeth's class.
I still cannot get over that my little baby is 7 years old.  She is such a fabulous, funny, sweet, smart girl!  Elizabeth makes us so happy each and every day.  We are so blessed to have her!

Easter - 2012

Easter morning the kids woke up bright an early - ready to search for their Easter baskets.

 Found it!

 Time to explore the baskets!

Then the kids searched for eggs.

They were hidden very easy, maybe next year the bunny needs to make it more challenging!  (hunting for things have never been my kid's strong suits!)
After hunting at our house and church we went to my parent's house.
The kids all posed for pictures before looking for eggs.

After hunting for eggs the kids did some baking with Grandma!  We also headed to Grandma and Grandpa H's house - but I didn't get any pictures!  We missed most of the festivities so we just went and hung out for a while.  It was a great Easter!
