Busy Weekend

We had another busy weekend around our household (doesn't everybody though!) We started the weekend with a garage sale at my SIL Janet's house. We had so much stuff to sell that it covered the entire driveway! We didn't have as much traffic as we would have liked, but we still made money and had a good time hanging out for the morning. We probably had 15 bags of clothes leftover to donate! I did end up getting that dollhouse for $3 at a garage sale though...that alone was worth it for me!

In other good news they have started working on our house! This has all been done since Thursday, that's the day they poured our foundation. I can't believe how fast it's going.

I made these felt bows for Elizabeth and they were so easy! I know a lot of you have girls so I wanted to share them with you. All you need is felt, thread and needle, a hair clip, and glue. I just cut out the shapes from the felt, glued them together and stitched on the accents. Then I just glued it to the hair clip. I thought a Christmas tree would be adorable with tiny little beads glued on.

I thought this was just funny. The kids were painting and look at Elizabeth's paint tray. Nice and neat. She rinsed her brush and all that before dipping into a new color.

Now this is probably just a boy thing, or a two year old thing, but look at his tray. All mixed up and he used all his paint in about 2 minutes. It was gobbed all over his home depot project.

On Friday we were able to visit our friends who used to live in our old neighborhood and have now moved about an hour away. The kids were so excited to play with Elliott and Berkley - and I was so glad I was able to visit with Chrissy in her gorgeous house!

They are so cute! Maybe Elliott will like younger men as she gets older :)

Finally...the First Field Trip

We were finally able to go to our first field trip to an ice cream shop. Elizabeth was so excited to finally get to go on a field trip - especially since at this field trip she got to have ice cream! Here she is waiting in line (see her near the back with blue pig tails?).

Elizabeth is such a rule follower! They were told as they walked into this room to put their hands behind their backs. Here is Elizabeth about 5 minutes later, still keeping those hands behind her back.

Halloween

First, I have to apologize for taking so long to post anything. My computer in the apartment is on this tiny counter sitting sideways in the kitchen. To use it I literally sit it on the oven. Unfortunately we couldn't get our wireless to work so that is where I have to sit - so I have little motivation to post. I'll try to get better!

On the night before Halloween we carved pumpkins with the kids. This was the first year the kids would actually touch the inside of the pumpkin (sort of) so it was a lot of fun.

This is the face Ben drew on his pumpkin. I was actually impressed because he got all the parts of the face - I wasn't sure he could do that!

Here are the completed pumpkins. They were very proud. They actually wanted to have their pumpkins sleep in their rooms with them. Elizabeth took hers with her in the car on Halloween and ended up breaking the face :) She wasn't too happy about that! But what do you expect when you carry a carved pumpkin everywhere you go, right?

Halloween morning we got up early and got the 4 kids (Ben, Elizabeth, Cooper, and Jackson)pictures professionally taken in their costumes. We then headed to my mom and dads for some early trick-or-treating and lunch. Here they are waiting for G and G to come to the door.

As I was downloading my pictures I realized I didn't have any of adorable Jackson in his costume! By the time we got to my parents he was sleeping, then eating, etc... and then we were outside with the kids. He was so cute as a dragon.

That evening after our special Halloween dinner at home we went to our old neighborhood to trick-or-treat with our cousins and see some of our old neighbors and playgroup friends. Here are all the TX little cousins - Josh (race car driver) Amelia (she eventually wore a kitty costume - here she is cute in a tutu) Elizabeth (snow white) Zach (tiger) Drew (pilot) and Ben (a knight)

The next morning the kids immediately got up to inspect their loot. I let them each have one piece of candy. Ben is covered in M&M's here.

I had to put these 2 pictures in here. Elizabeth is so funny with her stuff! She likes it all in a certain way. She had about 3 different parties that she collected candy from and had each event in their own Ziploc baggie. I told her I thought it would be a cute picture if she dumped out all the candy and took a picture with it all piled up. She kept kind of saying no and then I realized it was because she didn't want all the candy mixed up! So we took 3 different photos (i just put 2 here) of her 3 different bags of stuff. She is so good about not going into the candy or begging for it, unless I say so. Ben, not so much. We might have to start hiding his candy :) I hope you all had a great Halloween!

Elizabeth's Fall Festival and Babysitting

Today we had a very busy day with Cooper and Jackson. I babysat the boys while Jessica was at a training for work. Jackson was so easy, the boys were definitely the most work! :) Elizabeth loves to hold Jackson, feed him, and make him smile. She's getting very good at it!
Ben also loves to hold Jackson too. The boys were watching a show before nap and Ben wanted Jackson to watch, too.

BIG NEWS! Elizabeth lost another tooth! The first one she lost hasn't come in yet so she has a huge gap in front. So cute!

On Thursday Elizabeth had a fall festival at school. The kids wore their Halloween costumes and got to play games. The parents were invited to attend so Jessica was nice enough to babysit Ben for me so I could go.

I thought this was a great idea. We are doing this next year.

Here is her class. It was funny because all the girls (minus one) were some form of a princess or fairy and the majority of the boys were things I had no idea what they even were...storm troupers and things like that. I'm so out of it in the boy department. I need to catch up!

I was very glad I was able to be at the festival with her. I liked seeing her with her friends. You never really know how the school day goes, if she talks to any of the kids, etc... It was good to see everything in action!

Busy Week and Weekend

So this past week/weekend we had a few different activities to go to, and I haven't blogged in a while, so be prepared. This is going to be a long post! Jessica had the kids over for a Halloween party last week. She had the house decorated so cute, a few activities for the kids to do, and our traditional Halloween meal. Here the kids are busy running through the streamers in the entry way.

We tried long and hard to get pictures of the kids together. Tomorrow we are headed to get professional pictures of our kids in their costumes. We're going to need lots of luck - they are so bad about looking at the camera!

On Saturday our old neighborhood had their annual Halloween party.

They had a little petting zoo. Only my brave boy would venture inside. (what kid doesn't like a petting zoo? Elizabeth I guess! :)

On Sunday we had Jackson's baptism. I got hardly any pictures because I was taking a child to the bathroom during the beginning of the photo shoot and then was in a few and couldn't talk anyone into using my camera. Good thing Jessica is good about snapfishing her pictures. I am lucky enough to be the Godmother to this beautiful boy.

After the baptism we headed to a local park that was having a haunted playground party. My kids look really enthused about having their picture taken - huh?

Elizabeth is watching this cool toy that whenever you talked it distorted your voice and repeated you. We stayed there for quite a few minutes playing with it.

We caught up with Drew and Josh after we made it through the playground and they all wanted a turn on the tire swing.

Ben playing a game. I had to add this picture because I loved the shirts of the kids behind us! I saw that idea in a Family Fun magazine. It's tie dyed shirts and you draw on the pumpkin face. So cute!
I had to add this last one (ignore me please) I kept asking Jackson how big he was and every single time I raised his arms he got that huge smile on his face! I just love that little guy!
